Today I decided to add a video from Youtube.com that explains the internet and the traffic within it. I love the animations used to visualize the processes taking place and thought it would be a great series to share.

Pac-Man's 30th Anniversary

Congratulations!

In December of 2008 Google released their web browser, Google Chrome. Ready for a new alternative to Internet Explorer, we downloaded and installed chrome not long after. After almost a year and a half of using Google Chrome, I can’t believe how spoiled I am to it. I love the interface and unique features and here is why:

Unique Interface

Picture
Google really simplified the user interface. The main tool bar features your standard Back, Forward, Refresh, Stop and Go buttoms.

The Omnibox

Picture
Google combined the URL bar with the Search bar while offering the user some highly relevant suggestions and / or early results

Bookmarks Bar Features

Chrome’s Bookmarks Bar has drag and drop features for managing your favorite sites.

Security

Picture
Majority of the virus and malware software released are aimed for the most used browsers. Currently Google Chrome only covers 6.73% of users surfing the internet which is extremely low compared to Internet Explorer’s 59%.  In addition to being least likely to have a browser attack by malware or viruses, Chrome also has Black Lists that are designed to inform you if you are attempting to visit a potential threat online.

Incognito

Picture
A different form of security, Incognito Mode is available to surf the net without leaving any tracks behind. While in Incognito Mode, your cookies and history is automatically erased.

Speed

Many benchmarking tests have been performed to compare Google Chrome’s speed with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. In all cases, Google Chrome is the fastest browser when surfing the net. You can see comparisons here
Try it out for yourself and tell us what you think.

53% of the people surfing online use Internet Explorer (the big blue E) and I would say over half have fallen victim to having extra toolbars on their browser.
Picture
Toolbars can be useful for some but for many they are a nuisance. Adding more clutter to sift through while performing common tasks, they take away from the amount space displaying websites and can be responsible for many ads that you see.
If you are happy with your current toolbars, read no more. But, if you would like to learn how to remove these from your computer, read on!

To remove a toolbar from your PC:
  • Click Start
  • Select Control Panel
  • Select Programs and Features
  • Navigate to the Toolbar of Interest and select
  • Click Remove or Uninstall
  • When the "Are you sure?" window opens, select OK or Continue
  • Follow the steps from there on out if necessary
